690 services are listed and 302 of them publish that they offer residential rehabilitation. 85 are privately owned companies; the rest are government, charity, not-for-profit, Aboriginal community controlled or religious organisations. These are the services we have published, not a census of the country — there is no register that would let anyone claim one.
71 services take their enquiries through us, and those are the only ones we earn from. 71 carry a price band for a 28-day stay, though only 8 publish a rate we can stand behind — the rest are estimated from what each facility publishes about itself and labelled as estimates wherever a referrer sees them.
No service in Australia publishes live bed availability, so nothing here can tell you who has a place this week. Admission-risk information — psychosis, self-harm, violence, pregnancy — is published by almost nobody, which is why every comparison ends in a list of questions for the admissions team rather than a recommendation.
None of this improves until providers claim their profiles and fill it in. That is what the provider portal is for, and it is being built now.
