TREATMENT SERVICE
THE SERVICE
The northern arm of the Tasmanian Department of Health's Alcohol and Drug Services, based at 13 Mulgrave Street, Launceston. The community team provides intake and assessment, brief intervention, counselling, group work and therapy, relapse prevention and case management, with access to addiction medicine specialists and outreach clinics to rural areas. Clients also access the statewide opioid pharmacotherapy program. There are no beds at this site; inpatient withdrawal is delivered in the south. Services are free.
Published as not offered here: residential rehabilitation.
Ask the admissions team how withdrawal would be handled and how a transfer into treatment works.
CARE & DAILY LIFE
Ask about staff qualifications, medication policy, accessibility and any specific support needs before you decide. Almost no service in this directory publishes what it will and will not admit.
COST
We hold what this service publishes, and we do not put a price at the top of a profile for the public to sort on. The cheapest service on a page is rarely the right one for a particular person, and a quote that comes with the conversation about what is included is worth more than a band. Professional referrers see the figures in their workspace.

ONGOING SUPPORT
Details of ongoing support are not published here. Ask the service what support is available when your treatment ends.
PROFESSIONAL ENDORSEMENTS
Endorsements come from registered professionals — psychologists, addiction GPs, lawyers, social workers — who have referred someone here and put their name to what happened. None yet does not mean poor ones: it means nobody has written one.
