About Mirikai
Mirikai is a Lives Lived Well residential rehabilitation service at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast for people aged 18 to 35 with alcohol and other drug concerns. The program runs six to twelve weeks and can extend to three months. It is not a detox unit; residents must complete withdrawal elsewhere and arrive substance free. Staff include counsellors, psychologists, social workers and registered nurses, with an on-site medical practice. Aftercare includes free community counselling and transitional accommodation. Opened 1981.
