About WHOS Hunter Therapeutic Community
WHOS Hunter Valley is a residential therapeutic community at Cessnock for men and women aged 18 and over with alcohol and other drug dependence. The drug-free program runs four to six months and is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health with support from NSW Health. Residents and staff share day-to-day running of the community. Group work covers drug education, relapse and overdose prevention, communication skills and blood-borne virus education. Aftercare supported accommodation follows.
