THE SERVICE
An inpatient alcohol and drug withdrawal unit within Bacchus Marsh and Melton Regional Hospital, operated by Western Health. It admits public patients under the Medicare Agreement and private patients, at nil cost to the client. Admission is by referral from a medical practitioner holding detoxification admitting rights. The unit operates 24 hours. People with complex medical or psychiatric diagnoses are not eligible. Bed numbers and length of stay are not published.
