About Bloomfield Hospital - Involuntary Drug and Alcohol Treatment (IDAT) Unit
The alcohol and other drug service at Bloomfield Hospital in Orange is an eight-bed Involuntary Drug and Alcohol Treatment unit run by Western NSW Local Health District, one of only two such units in New South Wales. It admits adults with severe substance dependence on a Dependency Certificate for up to 28 days of medically supervised withdrawal, psychiatric and medical assessment and therapeutic programming, then transfers them to up to six months of voluntary community care through their own local health district.
