About Cabrini Women's Mental Health
A 30-bed private inpatient mental health hospital for women aged 18 to 65, run by Cabrini Health at the Lisa Thurin Women's Health Centre in Elsternwick. Referral comes from a GP, psychiatrist, psychologist or counsellor, followed by an intake assessment; the recommended stay is 7 to 10 days of group-based therapy. Conditions treated include mood disorders, burnout, complex trauma and addiction to alcohol and other drugs. Community day programs and individual HER Therapy continue after discharge.
