About DASSA Withdrawal Management Unit (Glenside)

A closed, secure inpatient withdrawal unit at Glenside Health Services run by SA Health's Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia. It provides assessment and medication-assisted withdrawal for people dependent on alcohol, opioids, other depressants and some prescription medications who cannot withdraw safely in the community. Admissions average five to seven days, are staffed around the clock by nurses with medical specialist support, and end with referral to counselling, rehabilitation or self-help groups.
