Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service is an Aboriginal community controlled health organisation serving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Illawarra from a single site in Wollongong. It provides general practice, nursing, Aboriginal health worker, dental, psychology and counselling services alongside community programs covering mental health, alcohol and other drugs, domestic violence and family support. Its substance misuse program has run since 1987. Treatment is non-residential and delivered on weekdays.

The free, non-residential drug and alcohol service of Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, based at The Orana Centre, 2 Rawson Street, Wollongong, with a second site at Nowra. It serves people aged 12 and over who use alcohol, prescription or illicit drugs, and their families.
