THE SERVICE
New ROADS is Uniting Communities' alcohol and drug rehabilitation program for South Australians aged 21 and over. Residents live in shared houses in metropolitan Adelaide, Berri, Whyalla and Mount Gambier, working to a treatment plan with weekly individual and group counselling, on a nominal five-month stay. The program also runs free outpatient counselling in six locations, a Continuum of Care day program, home detox in the Limestone Coast, and support for family members.

A residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation service in inner Adelaide run by the Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Council (SA), an Aboriginal community controlled organisation. It takes voluntary clients aged 18 and over through two separately contacted services, Whitmore for women and Hilton for men.
The Sobering Up Unit is a Salvation Army service at 62A Whitmore Square, Adelaide, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It takes adults aged 18 and over who are intoxicated by alcohol or other drugs, including people apprehended under South Australia's Public Intoxication Act.
A private inpatient psychiatric hospital at Gilberton in Adelaide's inner north, operated by Ramsay Health Care and described as its South Australian flagship.
SA Health's inpatient withdrawal service at Glenside provides assessment and medication-assisted withdrawal in a closed, secure unit for people dependent on alcohol, other drugs or certain prescription medications. Admissions average five to seven days.
