About Sobering Up Unit
The Sobering Up Unit is a Salvation Army service at 62A Whitmore Square, Adelaide, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It takes adults aged 18 and over who are intoxicated by alcohol or other drugs, including people apprehended under South Australia's Public Intoxication Act. Staff assess intoxication, provide a bed, bathing, clothing and meals, monitor recovery, arrange medical intervention if needed, and refer on to accommodation, medical, welfare, counselling and rehabilitation services. No referral is required.
