Nova House is Bendigo Community Health Services' residential withdrawal unit at North Bendigo, taking people of all genders aged 18 and over to withdraw from alcohol or other drugs. The average stay is seven days. The provider describes it as more like a home than a medical facility, with private bedrooms, shared living areas and gardens, and 24-hour in-house support from nurses and welfare workers. BCHS also offers home-based withdrawal, counselling, support groups, a pharmacotherapy clinic and needle and syringe services. Self-referral is accepted.
