About YSAS Fitzroy Residential Withdrawal Unit
YSAS runs an eight-bed residential withdrawal unit in Fitzroy for young people aged 12 to 25 withdrawing from alcohol and other drugs. Stays run up to 14 days. Each young person has a private bedroom, sees a doctor or medical staff for a detailed health assessment on arrival, and is supported by youth alcohol and drug workers on site 24 hours a day. The program covers relapse prevention, harm reduction, emotional regulation and goal setting, and is free and voluntary.
