Austin Health runs a specialist outpatient drug and alcohol clinic at Heidelberg for adults living in Melbourne's north and north-east who have complicated substance use disorder, including people with co-occurring mental illness or physical health problems. The clinic provides opioid substitution therapy with methadone and buprenorphine-naloxone, other drug treatments, and individual, group and family psychological counselling. It also advises external prescribers. Access is through Austin Health's round-the-clock mental health triage line.
