About Curran Place
Curran Place is a 16-bed adult residential withdrawal facility at 164 Banksia Street, Ivanhoe, run by Uniting Vic.Tas. Twelve beds are for general adult withdrawal and four are a mother and baby unit where a mother can withdraw without being separated from a baby under 14 months, staying seven to ten days. Everyone has their own room and shares the common areas, contributes to household chores and attends programs.

Therapies"The Curran Place program is structured to enable everyone staying at the facility to get along and have common house rules that work for everyone, including contributing to household chores and attending programs." Position descriptions add educational groups, meal preparation and household tasks used as part of the learning experience, harm reduction, overdose prevention and education strategies in discharge planning, and staff taking clients to appointments in the community or at other services. At the 2016 launch of the mother and baby unit the operator described parenting skills sessions, mother-child attachment work, yoga, recreational activities, goal setting and nutrition programs; that is ten years old and is not repeated on any current page.
