THE SERVICE
Barwon Health, the Victorian public health service for the Geelong region, runs an adult drug and alcohol service from 181 Moorabool Street, Geelong, within its Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services division. A separate youth mental health and wellbeing service covers ages twelve to twenty-five from sites at Corio, central Geelong and Newcomb. Barwon Health also publishes harm reduction and needle and syringe programs. Information and referrals go through a 24-hour triage line.

YSAS runs a residential withdrawal unit at Geelong for young people aged 12 to 25 withdrawing from alcohol and other drugs, for stays of up to 14 days. Each young person has a private bedroom and access to a house gym, basketball court and recreation activities.
A 14-bed community-based residential withdrawal unit run by The Salvation Army at Corio, on Wadawurrung lands, providing medically assisted withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs over a stay of six to ten nights.
CatholicCare Victoria runs a free, non-residential alcohol and other drug counselling service from its Wyndham Vale office at 510 Ballan Road. It offers an AOD assessment, individual counselling for the person using substances and for affected family members, and referral to other agencies.
headspace Werribee is a non-residential youth mental health centre for people aged 12 to 25 and their families, run as lead agency by Orygen from Building 12 at Victoria University's Werribee campus.
