About Bendigo Health - Dual Diagnosis Unit (DDU)
An eight-bed voluntary residential unit run by Bendigo Health Mental Health Services at North Bendigo for adults with co-occurring mental illness and alcohol or other drug dependency. Residents must have a lead clinician in a Bendigo Health community mental health team. The unit is staffed around the clock, with a medical officer, occupational therapist and social worker. Expected length of stay is three months. Entry requires an AOD and mental health assessment; people in acute withdrawal are not accepted.
