About Detour House

Detour House is a seven-place women-only residential rehabilitation program in Glebe, inner Sydney, run by the charity Detour House Inc since 1984. It takes women, trans women and non-binary people assigned female at birth who have already completed detox and a period of rehabilitation elsewhere, and who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The three-month program uses CBT, DBT, 12-Step work, group sessions, art therapy and individual case management, followed by up to twelve months of aftercare.

Who they help: Women 18 and over - cis women, trans women and gender non-binary people assigned female at birth - who have already completed detox and at least four weeks of prior residential rehabilitation, and who are homeless or at risk of homelessness while recovering from alcohol or other drug dependence.
