About Glebe House

Glebe House is a seven-bed men's therapeutic community in two heritage-listed Victorian terraces in Glebe, inner Sydney, running since 1974 and at this address since 1993. It takes men with substance dependence, gambling, dual diagnosis and complex trauma, about half referred straight from custody. The twelve-week residential program combines case management, psychological counselling, psycho-educational and life-skills groups, yoga, Pilates and ceramics with two daily 12-Step meetings, followed by open-ended free aftercare and supported housing.

Who they help: Men with complex needs - substance dependence, secondary addictions including gambling, dual diagnosis and complex trauma - who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, roughly half of them referred directly from custody through Corrective Services NSW and the rest from community and AOD services. The published 2024-25 age profile runs from 25 to 64 with an average of 41.4.
Substances treated: Methamphetamine, Alcohol, Polysubstance
