Freeman House is a St Vincent de Paul Society NSW service in Armidale for people wanting to reduce the harms of their substance use. The Society says it provides detoxification, residential rehabilitation, group programs, transitional support and one-on-one case management, and helps residents with housing, health, income, education, employment and family connections. A Vinnies article describes it as the largest residential rehabilitation service in northern NSW, with art, music, pool and gym rooms and nursing staff.

Private rooms onlyAdele House is a 40-bed residential rehabilitation service for men over 18 with alcohol and other drug dependence, run by St Vincent de Paul Society NSW on a rural property at Bucca near Coffs Harbour. The purpose-built facility opened in 2020.
A live-in alcohol and other drug rehabilitation program on Gumbaynggirr Country at Coffs Harbour, run by Lives Lived Well for young people aged 13 to 18 who live in NSW and have had contact with the youth justice system.
Namatjira Haven at Alstonville in northern NSW runs the Gulgihwen residential program for Aboriginal men aged 18 and over with alcohol and other drug dependence, with very limited places for non-Aboriginal men. There is no set length of stay; a minimum of eight weeks is recommended and the average is around twelve.
WHOS Hunter Valley is a residential therapeutic community at Cessnock for men and women aged 18 and over with alcohol and other drug dependence. The drug-free program runs four to six months and is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health with support from NSW Health.
