THE SERVICE
A state-wide inpatient unit at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital providing withdrawal or stabilisation for people dependent on alcohol or other drugs. Admission follows an assessment, taken at the emergency department between 8am and 7pm or by referral form, GP or community alcohol and drug service. Treatment combines a medication regime with supportive counselling and group treatment, and discharge planning links people to community services or residential rehabilitation. Visitors are not permitted. Treatment is free.

Damascus Health Services is a 44-bed drug and alcohol unit inside Brisbane Private Hospital, treating adults with problems related to alcohol and prescribed or over-the-counter medication.
Moonyah is The Salvation Army's Brisbane Recovery Services Centre at Red Hill. It runs an 80-bed residential rehabilitation program where participants stay on site and complete a three-month program, alongside a 16-bed withdrawal management unit for mild to moderate withdrawal with stays of seven to 10 days.
