About Uniting Medically Supervised Injecting Centre (Uniting MSIC)
A supervised injecting facility in Kings Cross, Sydney, run by Uniting and open since May 2001. People aged 18 and over with a history of injecting drug use may inject drugs they have brought with them in an eight-booth room staffed by a clinician at all times. Staff provide sterile equipment, safer-injecting advice, first aid and overdose resuscitation, then link clients to drug treatment, housing, legal and welfare services. No appointment is needed and clients may remain anonymous.
