Tennant Creek Hospital is a 20-bed NT Health district hospital on Schmidt Street with a 24-hour emergency department and a 16-chair renal dialysis unit, serving Tennant Creek and the wider Barkly region. NT Health lists the hospital, together with the Barkly Alcohol and Other Drugs Service based there, as the withdrawal service for the Barkly region. The Barkly team provides assessment, brief intervention and counselling for alcohol, tobacco and other drug use weekdays; residential rehabilitation in the town is provided separately by BRADAAG.
