About Kalano Community Association Inc

Kalano Community Association is an Aboriginal-owned and controlled organisation serving Katherine and surrounding communities, established in 1975. Its alcohol and other drug arm is Venndale Rehabilitation Centre, a twelve-week adult residential program 35km south of Katherine running AOD therapy and education, individual and group sessions, literacy and employability training, cultural activities and individualised aftercare planning. Kalano also runs the Katherine Sobering-Up Shelter and a community night patrol. Venndale held 20 funded beds by June 2025.
