THE SERVICE
A community-based structured day program run by The Salvation Army at 1 Elder Street, Braddon, for people aged 18 and over affected by alcohol, other drug or gambling problems. It runs on a harm-reduction, non-abstinence basis over twelve weeks in three four-week phases, using cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational strategies, with assessment, care planning, one-to-one work, groupwork, peer mentoring and aftercare. It is co-located with other Salvation Army community services.

Alcohol and Other Drug Support Connections is an outreach case management program run by Marymead CatholicCare Canberra and Goulburn for people over sixteen who want to reduce or stop using alcohol and other drugs.
A free, non-residential alcohol and other drug counselling service run by Canberra Health Services from the City Health Centre. It provides individual counselling, counselling for family members and carers, and therapeutic and relapse-prevention groups for adults.
Winnunga Nimmityjah is an Aboriginal community controlled primary health care service in Narrabundah, ACT, established in 1988 and open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages.
The Withdrawal Unit is a Canberra Health Services inpatient unit in Building 7 at Canberra Hospital providing medically supervised withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs, with an outpatient alcohol withdrawal program also available.
