About Cape York Family Centre - Pinangba
Cape York Family Centre is a residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation service at Cooktown run by Pinangba, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led arm of UnitingCare, under the BlueCare brand. It admits whole family units, adults and children together, from the Cape York communities of Aurukun, Coen, Hopevale, Mossman Gorge, Wujal Wujal and Laura and the local Cook area. The four to six month program uses a modified Systemic Family Therapy Framework with compulsory daily sessions, withdrawal management, counselling, case management, parenting and cultural activities. Children attend school or childcare.
