About Lives Lived Well - Shanty Creek Therapeutic Community
Shanty Creek is a live-in therapeutic community near Mareeba in Far North Queensland run by Lives Lived Well, taking up to 30 residents aged 18 and over. It prioritises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and also accepts others. The staged program runs up to four months and uses group counselling, case management, mindfulness, cultural support and life skills work. Residents must be alcohol and drug free on entry and pay a contribution from their Centrelink payment.
