Shanty Creek is a live-in therapeutic community near Mareeba in Far North Queensland run by Lives Lived Well, taking up to 30 residents aged 18 and over. It prioritises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and also accepts others. The staged program runs up to four months and uses group counselling, case management, mindfulness, cultural support and life skills work. Residents must be alcohol and drug free on entry and pay a contribution from their Centrelink payment.

Mission Australia's alcohol and other drug service in Queensland, a ten-bed therapeutic residential rehabilitation centre on the Kennedy Highway at Mareeba, inland from Cairns. It takes adults aged 18 and over from Cairns, the Tablelands and Far North Queensland.
A purpose-built 10-bed youth residential rehabilitation centre at Edmonton, south of Cairns, which opened in October 2025. It takes young people aged 13 to 18, with priority for 16 and 17 year olds, from the Cairns and Hinterland and Torres and Cape regions. Stays run from six weeks to six months and are voluntary.
