About North Queensland Youth Alcohol and Other Drug Service (NQYAODS) - Residential Rehabilitation Program, Edmonton

A purpose-built 10-bed youth residential rehabilitation centre at Edmonton, south of Cairns, which opened in October 2025. It takes young people aged 13 to 18, with priority for 16 and 17 year olds, from the Cairns and Hinterland and Torres and Cape regions. Stays run from six weeks to six months and are voluntary. Individual and group work addresses alcohol and other drug use alongside education and mental health, with cultural oversight by Gindaja.
