About Alcohol and Drug Service, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital
The Alcohol and Drug Service at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is a nurse-led inpatient consultation-liaison service rather than a treatment facility the public can enter. A clinical nurse consultant and four clinical nurses advise hospital medical and nursing staff managing patients with substance misuse complications, provide substance misuse assessment, harm minimisation and brief intervention, and link patients to community alcohol and drug services after discharge. It runs 7am to 5pm daily from A Block.
