About Lakeview Unit, Belmont Hospital
The Lakeview Unit is a twelve-bed inpatient withdrawal management unit on the Belmont Hospital campus at Belmont, south of Newcastle, run by Hunter New England Local Health District's Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services. It admits men and women aged 18 and over for supervised withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs. The stay includes one-to-one counselling, group participation, nicotine replacement therapy and discharge planning with follow-up. All admissions are arranged through the district's Drug and Alcohol Intake Service.
